Biography – Rachel Dax

Rachel Dax grew up in Sutton Coldfield, UK. She obtained a BA (Hons) in Philosophy & Theology at University of London and then trained to be a Religious Studies teacher. After a number of years teaching and completing an MA in Philosophy and Religion, Rachel moved to Cardiff and began pursuing a career in Drama, where her true passion lay. She taught Drama to children across South Wales and occasionally worked as an actor, including doing a memorable cameo in BBC Wales’ High Hopes.

She then obtained a 1st Class Honours Degree in Drama (Theatre & Media) at Atrium in Cardiff. It was at Atrium that she developed her talents as a writer and director. She directed numerous plays such as Ionesco’s Rhinoceros and Beckett’s Eh Joe and wrote, produced and directed her first two short filmsCrush and Heart. She then went on to complete an MA in Film at the International Film School of Wales, Newport, where she made three shorts:Helterskelter, The Gatekeeper and Caravan Sight a comedy-drama. Caravan Sight has been submitted to a range of prestigious film festivals across the globe.
